The first thing you notice when you meet Mathy is her smile, infectious laugh

There's that infectious smile

and a feeling of comfort and familiarity. She really is the girl next door. She has one of those bright personalities which radiates across a room unaided and isn’t for everyone but will work on a some people.

Mathy Lisika-Minsende is a social media geek nand career startegist.  She is the founder of Whathejobisthis, a career support business which specialises in career transitions and advancement. Winner of JCI speaking competition and Tedxsquaremile speaker of The future of Work 2012. Mathy has twelve years undiluted knowledge of careers and employment having gained experience as Job Broker/Recruiter, Mentor, Trainer, Career Coach and more.

Also known as the “Master-Hostess”, trilingual (French/Lingala/English) Mathy has an engaging and vivacious personality complimented by her own unique sense of style which she stamps with 100% on everything she does.

Mathy has recently been involved with the National Trust and the Soho Story apps. She frequently hosts Sparklondon, a forum that brings people together to share their true stories on stage, outside their comfort zone. Mathy also hosts her own inspirational career nights called “Tell it like it is”, helping those facing challenges and changes in their careers.

In recent years Mathy has used social media as her platform for blogging, providing information, stories and insights on topics such as Career Transitioning, Being My Own Boss, How to Utilise Social Media and Employability (Transferable) Skills. Her blogging caught the attention of Greenlight digital, Prospect, the national education and employment company, which led them to invite Mathy to be a key note speaker at the Summer Graduate Fair at ExCel in May 2012.  She’s also regularly invited to speak and teach at regular career-events such as Break out the box and a guest on numerous radio show such as Getting better acquainted

There’s never really a dull moment in her company this tall lady with a big afro and smile.

My story

After the job loss and the loss of my dad through cancer – Wha’ the job is this?!!!!!! is the first question I asked myself. What the Hell am I going to do now with my life?! And that’s where my journey started.
