Like many people we all have an illusion on the ideal job and the stability that our employers bring. The truth is very is clear. There is none. Stability and employment should never be put in the same sentence. With the fall in the economy there are billions of people waiting for the opportunity of a life-time. Some are bending, squatting, kneeling even crawling in desperation for a savior. Waiting for Superman to come and rescue them of the U-villain. As it has now become very clear that unemployment can literally touch anyone big or small.
I sat there at the table looking at the Chair telling me (at my first staff meeting) that the lifetime of my new Job would be determined by results given by the board of the trustee after their quarterly Review. This was due to the new Government and Coalition which was about to make big cuts in the private customer. Did I forget to mention I had a new job? Yes I have indeed.
This is day 8 in this new job, and I don’t expect very much from them apart from the opportunity to learn something new about myself and how to apply my skills.
Like any other employer I expect the same from them then my previous employers no loyalty, no security, no stability but better work ethics and infrastructure than the last. And if they truly value in their quality Statement than I guess it’s a bonus.
